About this tool

What Screenshot Redaction Tool does

Screenshot Redaction Tool permanently paints opaque rectangles over private areas of an image. Use it to cover names, email addresses, account numbers, addresses, QR codes, or private messages before sharing. Unlike a movable overlay in an editor, the downloaded result contains the redaction in the image pixels.

Practical example

A realistic way to use it

Before sharing a payment screenshot, cover the account name, account number, reference code, balance, and any notification preview visible around the edges.

Know before you use it

Supported workflow and limitations

  • Redaction rectangles cannot be moved after drawing; use Reset and repeat if needed.
  • The tool cannot automatically identify every sensitive detail.

Common questions

Screenshot Redaction Tool FAQ

Is drawing a black box secure redaction?+

In the downloaded image, Talzo paints the box directly into the pixels. Always open the final file and verify every area before sharing.

Can someone remove the redaction later?+

The original covered pixels are not preserved in the exported PNG, but your unredacted original still exists separately on your device.

Are my screenshots uploaded to Talzo?+

No. Talzo processes your screenshots inside your browser. The private input is not sent to our server.

Does the tool detect private information automatically?+

No. You decide what must be covered and draw each redaction manually.

Can I undo a box?+

Use Reset to restore the original image and redraw the redactions.
